Happy Summer!

Summer Sundays at the church house are a bit less busy than the Fall, Winter and Spring Seasons.  We intentionally slow down as part of our spiritual practice to embrace "sabbath".  Even so, our 10:00 Sunday morning worship continues all summer long with opportunities for fellowship sprinkled in here and there.   Check out some of the July through early August events listed below the next paragraph.

In spite of our summertime break from the usual "church" work and programming, much is going on behind the scenes.  We'd love your prayers about all of these …. FPC is discerning a one of a kind community fund raising event:  the Red Mountain Cross Walk in Spring 2015.  We will be tapping and inviting folks to serve on a Planning Team Task Force.   We also hope to be entering into a formal relationship with a regional not-for-profit that supports a significant population in need of care and support (more details soon).  And!  We are in conversation with a possible second staff person who may represent the beginning of a whole new ministry opportunity and identity for FPC.   Intending to be a vital presence in the Western Slope, any one of these three opportunities fulfills that goal.  If we can make headway on all three?  Wow!  God is good!

Noteworthy July and August Events:

July 6th:  We celebrate the Lord's Supper and ponder the blessing of freedom and faith in reclaiming God.

July 13th:    We will head to the Pullman for our m.m.m (mid month meal).  An easy fellowship gathering.

July 27th:  A Hymn Sing and Hearing of Jesus' Sermon on the Mount

July 31st - Aug 2nd:  Possible Family and Youth Campout at Ridgway State Park and a minor league baseball game (e-mail growing.serving@gmail.com for more details)

Aug 4th:  Meet and greet our Worship Arts Director candidate at 7 pm in the Gathering Space at the church house

Hope to see you at the Church House or along the bike path!  Charis
