WORSHIP

  • Worship Leadership - Developing a rich worship life and community, leading in worship and educating the congregation in meaningful participation, developing special services, music programs and observance of the sacraments.

  • Proclamation of the Word - The Word of God is to be preached with urgency and conviction, bringing it to bear on the changing needs of individuals in the community and the world.  High priority of pastor’s time placed on sermon preparation.

EDUCATION

  • Development and Support of Educational Program - Session and Pastor identify the educational needs of persons of all ages and backgrounds, developing programs to meet needs.  Pastor to support the educational programs by teaching and helping to develop goals that which are congruent with the total mission of the Church.

MEMBER CARE

  • Spiritual Development of Member - Sharing each others struggles regarding the Christian faith, with opportunities provided for individuals and groups to reflect on beliefs, concerns, and doubts regarding Christian understanding of the spiritual dimensions of life.

  • Emergency Needs - To develop and support a system of concern and caring whereby Pastor and Session are best aware of the needs of the congregation, paying special attention to those with special needs, such as hospitalization, crisis situations, needs of ill or bereaved.

  • Congregational Fellowship - Emphasis placed on developing a fellowship that will help members know one another, giving members the opportunity to love and support one another.

  • Counseling Services - Assisting those in and outside the Church, and making appropriate referrals as needed.

COMMUNITY CARE

  • Concern for identifying and dealing with specific social problems in the community.  Working with and providing space and funds and volunteers to groups and agencies and schools and individuals at work in our area.  Informing and encouraging and enabling members to become involved.

 ELSEWHERE CARE

  • Awareness of the Church’s worldwide mission and mutual support system, showing opportunities for corporate and individual involvement; specific projects identified, members challenged to support and study mission programs on six continents.
